Founder
- believe it or not, starting with the smallest segment of a target market is more beneficial than trying to boil the ocean
- solve better problems and quicker - better to solve smth dear to you and then expand
- Some problems are bigger than others
- sometimes you dont need a startup to solve a problem, it might just be a blog post :))
- On co-founders, let them come to you - “you have to earn a co-founder”
- build in public, let ppl come to you as you'll get more buy in
- generate ToFU activity ASAP with your product
- help you iterate and gather a loyal group of customers to remind you of what problems you're solving
- MVP means MVP
- try not to build anything from scratch, leverage existing software and do it in a way that isn't automated (eg: instead of making a whole website perhaps a substack is better)
As a PM
- The quicker the personal kanban i establish the better - let me prioritise tasks
- Structure my week as 80:20 (80% for day to day work, 20% for long term vision & strategy)
- Favour documentation > meetings
- always record looms, write documents for project
- Learn to know when smth is the “right level of baked” before releasing
- often, feedback you get from speaking to users is specifically UX related
